New and improved, the Petzl GriGri 2 is lighter, smoother and smaller. It works exactly the same as the original GriGri, and offers assisted braking and smooth, easily controlled descending. A long time favourite with sports climbers and with outdoor centres due the GriGri's very rapid, 'auto brake' arrest mode.
The new GriGri 2 is 20% lighter and 25% smaller than the older version, making it a more appealling option for a wider range of climbers. Care must be taken when using the GriGri2 and the belayer must always have full control of both the live and 'dead' rope, as with the conventional belay method.
